The Benefits of Attending Events: Psychology4Students Registration Now Open
Events are a brilliant way to network with like-minded people, and can be really beneficial.
Madeleine Pownall, a current third year student, has attended BPS events and Edinburgh Science Festival. She encourages other students to attend psychology events:
“I found that after attending the BPS Conference and Edinburgh Science Festival, I had a new sense of excitement and enthusiasm for my studies. I could see how psychology can be applicable to a whole host of industries, and how it has affected so many people. It was really rewarding to be able to talk to other likeminded students and academics about my own interests and university course. Psychology is universal and it exists beyond the lecture theatre, so it was nice to be able to talk psychology in a way that was beyond university”.
A good introduction to psychology events is Psychology4Students. The BPS encourages students to attend:
“Our Psychology4students events provide students with the excellent opportunity to listen to inspiring talks from a variety of eminent psychologists who work across many different fields of psychology. Whilst benefitting your current studies, we hope that the talks will also widen your perspective on where a psychology degree could take you.”
The event will include career talks, opportunity stands, and a chance to network with other students.
This year we are lucky that the event is a short travel from Lincoln, at Nottingham Conference Centre on 21st November 2017. Tickets cost £16 and registration is now open: Click here
Our Features Editor will be attending, and a full report will be featured in DigiPsych following the event.
